A Proud History
Queensbury started back in 1938 in Littlemoor and they were called the “All Blacks” and ran from the Stags Head. With an excellent record for producing professional players the first being David Hill who signed for Bradford Northern in the early 60’s. Following him in the 60’s and 70’s Tony Bottomley to Barrow, Phil Jackson and Paul Brambani to Bradford. John Brambani, John Stephenson and Alan Senior went to Keighley. In the 80’s Paul Whites Snr, Geoff Price, Dennis Pryce and Andy Barker went to York while Brendan Hill signed for Leeds. The present coach of Queensbury open age Basil Richards signed for Warrington while his brother Craig went to Bradford as well as Jonny Bruce going to Sheffield. In the 90’s Gareth Hewitt went to Leeds, Andy Stephenson (son of John Stephenson) played for Queensbury Juniors then moved over to Clayton ARLFC before signing professional for Keighley Cougars in 1991 he now coaches the Under 9's team.
Leon Pryce and Stuart Reardon to Bradford and Wayne Pryce to Castleford. These three still playing Superleague now. Also Paul Whites Jnr is now at Wakefield. Dominic Brambani another Queensbury Junior is now playing for Sheffield. Karl Price now plays for Gloucester R.U. and Stuart Calvert had a short stint with Keighley.
